Its the Summer Solstice
The Radical
21st June 2018
The longest day (and the shortest night)
So how does it feel to know the days are about to get shorter from now until Christmas
” All Things Bright and Beautiful” but most know the Lord God did not make them all.
For growers it has seemed like November – Cold Windy and Parched.
And there is just one corner of England I want to tell you about.
Inspite of the weather the grass grew because the soil temperature rose.
And on Monday 18th a local farmer decided to cut this field of grass.
Because the Weekly Weather forecast on Sunday claimed by Countryfile to be its own said
and I confirm dry weather for this area ALL WEEK .
And with all their technology and guile the Weather man got it horribly wrong
Because on Wednesday night there was a storm here and it rained off and on all night.
Spoiling that farmers hay crop.
I know it was a hay crop because the grass is still lying in the field.
On Tuesday there was a warning of – The Weatherman changed his mind
And if the crop had been mine I would have made Silage of that field
because of the drying wind on Tuesday but maybe this farmer
doesn’t have the equipment and the Contractors were busy elsewhere.
So the first thing to remember is not to trust the weather forecasters because
clearly they still do not know, even though they do not mention the word FORECAST
These days they blind you with ” HERE IS YOUR WEATHER FOR THE WEEK”
Its abit like promises from another quarter – “MAYBE” – Theresa May be
Having said your Taxes are going to rise to pay for the NHS she fluffed her lines at PMQ’s
When OH JC asked her by how much ?
She passed the buck as she does when the going gets tough and the tough cant take it
to the Money man Pip Hammond or Pop Goes the Weasel.
The Man who gave his rich friends tax cuts, but who only increased our tax allowances in line
with their stated inflation, which is also one big lie,if you ask any housewife about her food bill.
Back to the Summer Solstice – In 1778 a batchelor named Brecknell bequeathed a farthing and
two penny cake annually to every person ,
born in Church Street Kidderminster on the 21st June.
It was a “Dole”- Charity which has always been a Christian obligation.
Abit like Maundy Thursday when Queenie gets ???? generous.
And so its a day to reflect on the generosities of life.
What “MayBe” calls the the Tory Party – You’re Better off Under the Conservatives
So the Summer Solsitice is a good time to reflect.
Nothing comes free from the Tories. The Church Mouse remains poor !
God did not make all things Bright and Beautiful
and the Weather man does not have exclusive rights to your weather.
All in All it’s been a poor growing year so far so don’t bet on it going to get better.
The farmer hopes to get his hay dry to feed his flock
And Maybe is going to squeeze the working class dry before she hits the wealthy
on the basis they dont use the NHS but go private.
Enjoy your “Longest Day” thanks to others who gave theirs
And remember Summer begins today but is Midsummers Day in 3 days time
I shall – My Broad Beans and Peas are ready to begin harvesting
and my early potatoes are delicious,
the garden is full of Sweet Williams and Californian Poppies
and tomorrow I am 75 years old – Do you think I should take a few days off ?
BECAUSE FOR EVERYTHING ELSE – ITS A HOLLOW MOCKERY AND DECEITFUL SHAM,
which takes some getting used to under capitalism.
Its’s Time for Reflection and Change Friend !!!!!
