Civilisation has operated in two ways - To make one part of society more affluent and the other more wretched than would have been the lot of either in a natural state

There are stories going around the medical world –

The Radical-

– that combinations of drugs are better than

drugs with a single purpose.

Stories of Two Three or even Four Pills in one are banded about.

Blame the Drug companies hard sell for ever greater profits

We have drugs combining High Blood Pressure and Diabetes problems for example but as

in all compounds the doses are fixed and do not take into account individuals situations.

I know this from my own experiences. I am advised to increase one treatment over another

Horses for courses, I say and so say the Medical profession. When did you last see a

Cardiologist with a specialism in Endocrinology to treat the Heart and the Diabetic ?

An Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialism in Neurology for the treatment of arthritic

conditions ? A Urologist with a specialism in Otohinolaryngology ( ENT to you and me )

Some drugs work better on some people than others and conversely some drugs do not

work well with some people.

Treatment can often become a question of trial and error and patients should understand

that. It is not a question of taking so many drugs that make you rattle inside.

It is about treating people as individuals.

Compound feeds treatments and lifestyles give the impression that one system treats all

Two-in-one pill for blood pressure will ‘save thousands of lives’

Switching millions of Britons to a “two in one” pill for blood pressure could save thousands of lives, experts say.

Around one in four adults in the UK are on multiple drugs for the condition, which is the biggest cause of heart disease and stroke.

But experts say only about half of those with high blood pressure are managing their illness properly – putting them at risk of deadly heart attacks.

Many are deterred by the fact they are put on a confusing cocktail of medications, with extra drugs often added when pressure becomes uncontrolled.
