SOCIALISTS LENT CORBYN’S LABOUR THEIR SUPPORT – IN THE 2019 “BREXIT” ELECTION CORBYN FAILED THEM SO THEY WITHDREW IT, LEAVING A BLIARITE REMAINER AS LEADER AGAIN –

George Galloway brutally mocks Keir Starmer as ‘Blair without laughs’ in blow to Labour

GEORGE GALLOWAY dealt a devastating blow to new Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer when he ridiculed the politician for merely being a humourless caricature of one of the party’s previous prime ministers, Tony Blair.

George Galloway furiously hit out at former Prime Minister Tony Blair and recently elected Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer over the state of the opposition party. The ex-Labour MP turned commentator accused established party officials of turning against Jeremy Corbyn primarily because of his “different foreign policy”. Mr Galloway also claimed that Mr Blair and his allies were the ones truly in charge of the party.

He told RT viewers: “They hated Corbyn, not because he wanted to put tuppence on the income tax, they hated Corbyn because he just might follow a different foreign policy to that which Labour has always followed before.

“Tony Blair is the architect of Labour as it is today.

“It’s Tony Blair and his friends who are now in charge of the Labour Party.

“After all who is Sir Keir Starmer except Tony Blair without the laughs?”

Mr Galloway had also mocked Mr Starmer’s choices for his shadow cabinet, which were announced shortly after he was announced as leader.

Speaking with ex-Mayor of London Ken Livingstone, the Scottish commentator noted that many ‘Blairites’ had made a return.

He said: “It looks like the people who departed Jeremy Corbyn’s frontbench are pretty largely back again like zombies.

“The return of the undead. Is that thrilling you so far?”

Mr Livingstone defended the choices: “Keir Starmer’s clearly going to put together a broad coalition.

“There’ll be people from the left and people from the right of the party.

“He’s going to try and unite the party after all this division of recent years.”

The former London Mayor added: “None of this is particularly easy. When I became the leader of the Greater London Council, I had a completely left-wing administration.

“There were no right-wingers in it at all and that was a mistake. You’ve got to actually reflect the balance of opinion in the party.

“What strikes me about the appointments Keir Starmer’s made is that while I wouldn’t agree with the politics of all of them, broadly they are competent.

“They’re the sort of people that look like they could run a Labour Government.”
