PUT THE POLITICIANS ON THE MINIMUM WAGE AND WATCH HOW FAST THINGS CHANGE
Civilisation has operated in two ways - To make one part of society more affluent and the other more wretched than would have been the lot of either in a natural state
There are Natural Rights and Civil Rights. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness
Where Our Power to Execute Our Natural Rights is Perfect, Government has No Legitimate Jurisdiction
When the Forces for War are Greater than the Forces for Peace   Then the World is in Danger
Politics is not a Dirty Word. It is a Way of Life. How is Your Way of Life Today ?

POVERTY IN THE PHILIPPINES

Phili
The Poverty Line set at P100,534* peso, per capita income,a year in 2014.

The Radical
24th Nov 2018

This was a 78% increase since 2013. * £1478 at todays exchange rate.

Although the Poverty incidence is claimed to have declined to 21.6% from 25.2

in 2012 and 26.3% in 2009.

The decrease in in poverty has been rapid compared to the appalling situation in the 1980’s and it now compares with broadly similiar numbers in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) Thailand, Indonesia or Vietnam.

The Philippine Government planned to eradicate poverty as stated in the Development Plan of 2011 -2016. The plan is committed to halve extreme poverty from a level of 33.1% in 1991 to 16.6% by 2015.

IN 2012 a family of 5 WOULD NEED *P5513 peso per month in order just to meet their basic food needs and a further *P2377 peso in order to meet their non food needs and this represents an inflation rate of 4.1% from 2009 to 2012. * £81.01p and £34.96p – £115.97.

THERE IS VERY LIMITED SOCIAL SECURITY IN THE PHILIPPINES.

Due to the rapid population growth, unemployment, lack of education and literacy amonst the poor, a Human Development Index as defined by the United Nations was put at 117 out of 178, and with a lack of affordable housing, poverty is set to remain while the country claims an annual economic growth of 7 – 8 %.

Clearly the inequality divide is getting wider.

There is extreme wealth and abject poverty.

Corruption is rife, Elections are rigged through bribery and the average life expectancy at just 73 years is a reflection of the lack of attention the Government is paying to exploitation and poverty.

The rate at which Children under 5 years old die is reflected in the lack of free medical care.

A visit to the doctor costs. The simplest operation is out of the reach of 25% of the population
as the DOCTORS CREAM OF THE TOP and THE DRUG COMPANIES RAKE IN THE PROFITS.

DENISTRY AND AUDIO OR VISUAL CARE ARE BEYOND THE REACH OF MOST

EVEN MATERNITY SERVICES MUST BE PAID FOR

AND CONTRACEPTION IS NOT TOTALLY FREE.

IN SOME AREAS LIKE PARTS OF MINDINAO, THE POVERTY LEVELS

RANGE FROM 1 in 6 to 1 in 3.

THOUSANDS LIVE IN SQUATTER CAMPS, CARRY WATER, HAVE NO SANITATION, EAT

NOTHING BUT RICE AND DEPEND ON HANDOUTS.

US PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT GAVE FULL INDEPENDENCE TO THE PHILIPPINES AFTER

OCCUPYING THE COUNTRY FROM THE JAPANESE.

BUT AS EVERYONE KNOWS THE US GIVE OUT NO FREE LUNCHES

AND STILL ASSUME TO TREAT THE COUNTRY AS A COLONY WITH WAR BASES

CHINA’S INFLUENCE IS GROWING, BUT THE PHILIPPINES COULD

LOOK  BEYOND THE SOUTH CHINA SEA RIM TOWARD AUSTRALIA

AND NEW ZEALAND.

THE CHILDREN ALL LEARN ENGLISH/ AMERICAN AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

THE PHILIPPINES HAS ENORMOUS POTENTIAL AND WEALTH IF ONLY …….

IT IS ONE COUNTRY THE UK COULD TRADE BETTER WITH, AFTER BREXIT

ITS HUMAN RESOURCES ARE STAGGERING.
