Civilisation has operated in two ways - To make one part of society more affluent and the other more wretched than would have been the lot of either in a natural state
There are Natural Rights and Civil Rights. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness
Where Our Power to Execute Our Natural Rights is Perfect, Government has No Legitimate Jurisdiction
When the Forces for War are Greater than the Forces for Peace   Then the World is in Danger

Don’t buy Hewlett Packard this Christmas!
In less than a week, more than 5,000 people have already signed PSC’s pledge to boycott Hewlett Packard products, such as printers, computers and ink. They have signed because they refuse to be complicit in HP’s oppression and occupation of the Palestinians. Read more about the campaign>
As Chair of PSC, Hugh Lanning, explains in his article (due to be published in the Morning Star on 12th December):
“HP is contracted by the Israeli government to provide the IT infrastructure to the Israeli navy, whose gunboats pounded the Gaza coast during the summer’s massacre.
Those same gunboats, together with Israeli warships, are also vital in enforcing Israel’s illegal siege on Gaza, which has brought poverty and misery to the Palestinian population of 1.8million.
And they fire constantly at Palestinian fishermen who try to scratch a meagre living from the shallow waters that they are limited to by the siege.”

If you haven’t yet – sign the pledge today. And join our social media campaign: PSC is running a social media campaign on Facebookand Twitter #boycottHP

Extremist Israeli allowed to enter UK
An Israeli with extremist views, Dr. Mordechai Kedar, has been allowed to enter Britain in order to spread his anti-Palestinian and Islamophobic messages in community centres and schools.
On 1st July this year, an interview with Dr Kedar on Israeli Radio was aired on the “Hakol Diburim” (“It’s All Talk”) programme, during which he said: “The only thing that can deter terrorists, like those who kidnapped the children and killed them, is the knowledge that their sister or their mother will be raped.”
Brighton PSC organised a successful protest outside a local meeting with Kedar, pointing out that although it was heartening that other major events due to hear him speak had been cancelled, he was still spreading his ‘toxic’ message locally.
PSC has written to the Home Secretary to protest against Kedar’s entry and to insist that action is taken.
Jerusalem report-back
This week, Richard Burden MP chaired a packed PSC meeting about the crisis facing Jerusalem, with PSC’s Hugh Lanning, the NUT’s Philipa Harvey and the Palestinian Ambassador to the UK, Prof Manuel Hassassian.

Sir Gerald Kaufman MP received a warm round of applause for his speech on Jerusalem in Parliament this month, his contribution to the Palestine recognition debate, and his consistent support for the Palestinian people.

Richard Burden MP talked about the fact that Jerusalem is often forgotten, but is central to Palestinian life. Philipa Harvey talked about the restrictions and difficulties faced by children, prevented from celebrating their own culture in East Jerusalem. Hugh Lanning reminded everyone it is a time for action, and asked people to ensure that they had a happy ‘but not a HP Christmas’!
A full report of the meeting will be available shortly.
