Are you a member of an affiliated union – THAT SUPPORTED THE FULL BREXIT ?

Let’s get the trade union movement behind PR

Hi ,

At this year’s Labour Party conference, 80% of delegates representing the Labour membership voted in favour of Proportional Representation. But because most of the big unions voted against PR, the motion fell.

The path forward is clear: we need to bring more of the unions on board – and we’ve already made amazing progress. In May, train drivers’ union Aslef came out in favour of PR. And just last month the biggest of the Labour-affiliated unions – Unite – voted to oppose First Past the Post at its biennial policy conference.

To get the Labour Party behind PR, we need to build understanding and pressure within all the trade unions that are affiliated with the Labour Party.  These are…

ASLEF • Community • CWU • FBU • GMB • Musicians’ Union • NUM • TSSA • Unison • Unite • Usdaw

If you’re a member of any of these, sign up hereLabour for a New Democracy and Politics for the Many will be working together with Make Votes Matter and other members of our coalition to win the trade union movement over to PR in the coming year.

Don’t worry if you’re not very active in your union. We’ll explain how policy-making works and what needs to be done every step of the way.

All the best,

Caroline Osborne
